tip me & Amazonas: appreciation and support for artisans in Brazil
The people who make our products
Have you ever sent a tip to the people who make your products similar to how you tip a waiter, barista or bartender? Well, you can, and we’re proud to say that Amazonas is now the first home & garden company on the planet to enable tipping directly to the artisans and sewing workers in Brazil!
Tipping is made possible through our partnership with tip me. Tip me was founded to increase the financial wellbeing and the visibility for garment workers, artisans and farmers around the globe. So far, tip me has collected more than € 80,000 in tips for about 1,000 workers in countries like Vietnam, Pakistan, Kenya, Ukraine and Turkey. Tip me supports us in collecting and distributing the tips to ensure that 100% of your contribution goes directly to each individual. That’s right, 100%! Amazonas will cover all transaction fees.
From the founders - why join forces like this?
"The company name Amazonas not only represents the region that inspired me to found the company, but is also a daily reminder of the people who have worked with us for years and continue to do so. In difficult economic times like these, we want to ensure that the people who work for the company that makes our hammocks and hanging chairs can continue to provide for themselves and their families. While we already support a charity in Brazil that focuses on children and youth with "The Little Nazareno", we wanted to make sure that our immediate part of the Amazon family was not forgotten. Working with tip me was the perfect way to give Brazilian artisans more visibility in Europe and allow our customers to show their appreciation."- Matthias Saul, Amazonas
“Amazonas is another company caring deeply about the people in their supply chains. While some brands see tip me as a powerful marketing tool, for Amazonas, increasing the living conditions of the workers in Brazil was always priority number one. Creating impact with such partners is always fun, fulfilling and rewarding. Thanks for showing how we can shape tomorrow.” - Helen, CEO & co-founder of tip me
Show appreciation with tip me
tip me enables you to tip worldwide. To show your appreciation to the workers who make your products, you can send a small amount of appreciation to our local team. The money usually is spent on groceries for the family, educational expenses or bills such as rent, electricity or medicine. A fair and well-paid working environment is our core responsibility and that of our local business partners and teams. A global tip is not a substitute for a salary, it serves above all to show appreciation for a craft. It is a sign of solidarity and appreciation.

To tip, you don't have to buy a product
Want to tip? Here’s how:

On the product page, you’ll see some tip me text just below the add-to-cart button.
